It should still be able to play gaplessly when streaming music files from the Plex media server and using the MusicCast app (as it does with the Synology media server & MinimServer). So this has nothing to do with your Yamaha device playing gaplessly or not. The Plex client app can only be used to control its own Plex media player to stream media files from the Plex media server (plus online streaming services, etc). Last time I checked, the Plex client app cannot be used as a UPnP/DLNA controller to control UPnP/DLNA streamers (like your Yamaha) to play music files from the Plex media server. Those reports of Plex's lack of gapless support only appear to be for its built-in media player in the Plex client, that comes bundled in the Plex app for computers, Android and iOS devices not forgetting the versions of it included in some smart TVs, DVRs, media streaming sticks, etc. Re: Issues with asset upnp on Synology NAS It is likely that 2 apps (Asset and the Indexer) are trying to open the same files at the same time, you can set Assets indexing to manually triggered. Asset UPnP Linux, QNAP & Synology Manual Asset is accessed directly from the device (such as XBox, PS3) or through a UPnP Control Point running on a PC (such Asset Control, Kinsky Desktop) or hand-held controller (such as Kinksy, Lumin, or PlugPlayer on the iPad). I'm still a bit confused with you using Plex with regards the gapless playback issue. Synology Knowledge Center offers comprehensive support, providing answers to frequently asked questions, troubleshooting steps, software tutorials, and all the technical documentation you may need. If the UPnP/DLNA media server doesn't support UPnP media contents searching, a 'Not Supported' warning pop up box will appear the first time you try the BubbleUPnP app's manual search facility with that particular UPnP/DLNA media server. It allows you to do text searches on its currently selected UPnP/DLNA media server, for matching track names, artists, albums, etc. I understand it has been accepted by Synology to be included in their package in due cou… It was not updating for me when files added. I’ve been testing the beta releases for a few months & can highly recommend it. I suppose a definitive test for a UPnP/DLNA media server's UPnP contents search support would be to use the BubbleUPnP Android app's manual search facility (in its Library section). Illustrate have released Asset UPnP for Synology. Ok, so it looks like the Synology media server not supporting UPnP media contents searching may well be the reason for the lack of the grid view on the MusicCast app.
